Bring Your Fence Back to Life
Don't replace it — restore it. Our fence restoration service removes years of weathering, mildew, and damage to reveal the beautiful wood underneath. A fraction of the cost of replacement.

About This Service
San Diego's sun, coastal moisture, and occasional rain can take a serious toll on wood fences over the years. What was once a beautiful, vibrant fence can become gray, weathered, and covered in mildew — but that doesn't mean it's time for replacement.
Our fence restoration service is designed to reverse years of weathering and bring your fence back to life. The process begins with a thorough assessment to determine the extent of damage and whether restoration is the right choice. In most cases, a properly restored fence looks just as good as a new one — at a fraction of the replacement cost.
The restoration process involves high-pressure washing to remove surface dirt and mildew, followed by application of a professional wood brightener (oxalic acid-based) to neutralize tannins and restore the natural wood color. This opens the wood grain and prepares the surface for maximum stain penetration.
Once the surface is properly prepared, we apply a premium stain or sealant to protect the wood and lock in the restored appearance. The result is a fence that looks years younger and is protected against future weathering.
We evaluate the fence's structural integrity and surface condition to determine if restoration is appropriate and what products will work best.
We use professional pressure washing equipment to remove surface dirt, mildew, loose paint, and weathered wood fibers.
We apply an oxalic acid-based wood brightener to neutralize tannins, remove gray discoloration, and open the wood grain for stain penetration.
After the wood has dried, we apply a premium stain or sealant to protect the restored surface and maintain the fresh appearance long-term.
Most fences can be restored if the wood is structurally sound. If boards are cracked, warped, or rotted through, those sections may need replacement before restoration. We'll assess this during our free estimate.
Even severely grayed fences can often be restored. The key factor is structural integrity — if the wood is solid, the surface can almost always be improved dramatically. We've restored fences that looked beyond saving.
Most residential fence restorations take 1–2 days. The pressure washing and brightener application is done on day one, and the staining is done the following day after the wood has dried.
Painting over a weathered fence without proper preparation seals in moisture and mildew, leading to premature peeling. Our restoration process removes all contaminants and opens the wood grain first, ensuring the stain bonds properly and lasts much longer.
No obligation. We'll assess your fence and provide a detailed quote within 24 hours.
